We are hiring custodial floor crew cleaners for the City of Los Angeles
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift available
$18.00-$20.00/hr
Essential Functions
- Must be able to properly operate and maneuver heavy high speed buffers.
- Must be able to properly operate and maneuver heavy high speed extractors.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry an upright commercial vacuum.
- Must be able to push or pull a 75 pound extractor / buffer 6-7 hours a day.
- Must be able to properly operate and maneuver Walk behind and drivable Auto Scrubbers.
- Window Washers, must be lift certified.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums hallways, stairs, public and nonpublic areas, interior and exterior.
- Applies paste or liquid wax to floor with rags, mops and/or floor machine.
- Polishes floors with electric powered buffers.
- Auto Scrubs or buff polishes interior/exterior surfaces.
- Extraction of carpeted areas, wand extraction when dealing with carpet tiles.
- Strip old finishes, seal and apply new finishes.
- May transport small tools and equipment.
- May set up tables and chairs in auditoriums or halls.
- May move furniture and arrange boxes and materials
- Clean windows, walls and doors of facilities by using a sponge with soapy water, Window Wipers.
- Remove dirt and blemishes from floor, using various cleaning solvents and compounds, according to composition of floor.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand English.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with subordinates, supervisors and management.
- Must be able to lift and /or carry an upright commercial vacuum.
- Must be able to stand, walk and bend 4-6 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift, pull or push heavy equipment 4-6 hours per day.
- Requiring good corrected vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching
- Lifting and the ability to work under a time frame to complete the daily work assignment.
Minimum Training and Experience Required
- Must have previous knowledge of how to utilize a buffer, extractor, and/or auto scrubber.
- Must be able to work independently or within a small group of 3-5 employees.
